ALAY 10 OPENS AT THE SM ART CENTER
ALAY 10, the much-awaited art event of Silangan Foundation for the Arts, Culture and Ecology and Boston Gallery, opens at 6pm, February 23, 2008 at the Art Center in SM Megamall. Alay is an annual show by artists who have exhibited at the Boston Gallery in Cubao, Quezon City. This year marks its 10th anniversary.
Sixty-six painters and sculptors will showcase their works. Among the artists are : Leo Abaya, Joel Ajero, Salvador Alonday, John Paul Antido, Bencab, Plet Bolipata, Elmer Borlongan, Ruel Caasi, Rocky Camus, Daniel Coquilla, Marina Cruz, Noel Cuizon, Edrick Daniel, Rene De Guzoman, Grace de Jesus, Alfredo Esquillo, Tina Fernandez, Karen Flores, Dennis Fortozo, Nona Garcia, Emmanuel Garibay, Sandra Fabie Gfeller, Dennis Gonzales, Guerrero Habulan, Riel Hilario, Mark Justiniani, Erwin Leanño, Antonio Leaño, Fred Liongoren, Joseph Lofranco, Stephanie Lopez, Joy Mallari, Neil Manalo, Joven Mansit, Ferdie Montemayor, Jason Moss, Jan Leeroy New, Andy Orencio, Jim Orencio, Vincent Padilla, Anthony Palomo, Mikel Parial, Ian Quirante, Elmer Roslin, Ronaldo Ruiz, Kris Saguilon, Carlo Saavedra, Jerson Samson, Jaypee Samson, Julius Samson, Pamela Yan-Santos, John Santos III, Federico Sievert, CJ Tañedo, Rodel Tapaya, Wire Tuazon, Tammy Tan, Alex Tee, Juanito Torres, Tatong Torres, Mark Valenzuela, Anna Varona, Cris Villanueva, Reggie Yuson, Christopher Zamora and Costantino Zicarelli.
Alay 10 will promote the establishment of the Silangan Contemporary Art Museum. The museum aims to maintain and preserve a collection of significant Philippine artworks from a period covering 1986 to 2010.
