Unesco has formally approved the creation of a centre for research on world cultural heritage to be based in the baroque Venaria Reale palace in Turin.
The centre, which was given the go-ahead at the 18th general assembly of Unesco member states in November, is expected to be open by Easter. It aims to establish new links and partnerships, train international professionals to safeguard and promote their own local heritage and offer an MA degree programme, “World Heritage at Work”.
