Sikil
(Unspoken Passion)
Two men and a woman in a bizarre love triangle…
The UP Film Institute is proud to premiere yet another digital feature that is making the rounds of the world to bring honor to the country and find it an enviable place in the map of global cinema. Ronaldo Bertubin’s Sikil (Unspoken Passion) screens this November 22 Thursday at 5 and 7 p.m.
Billed as a bizarre love triangle, Sikil tells the story of childhood friends who grew up in a small town south of Manila. They would each struggle to seek their true worth, their true identities and ultimately the elusive experience of love much more of the kind that dare not speak its name.
Sikil received its world premiere at the 28th Mostra de Valencia Cinema del Mediterrani (Valencia International Film Festival, 16-24 October 2007). It then proceeded to Mexico for the inaugural of the Cancun International Film Festival (Official International Film Festival for the City of Cancun, 14-18 November 2007). Next stop for the dramatic film come New Year is the 19th Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival (Nortel Networks Palm Springs International Film Festival, 3-14 January 2008).
