RealEase
Some say creative life is in ideas, some say it is in doing.
It seems in most instances to be a simple being…
It is not a matter of wanting to, not a singular act of will; one solely must.
–Clarissa Pinkola Estes
Breathing and moving beings that we are, over time, we accumulate so much. Soon, we forget how to open our hands and empty them for new things.
Fellow artists Francesca P. Arnaldo and Vivian N. Limpin chose to remember. Both unschooled in the visual arts but with hands of silver, they took hold of what is true and truly theirs—ancient, everyday, bedrock, fluid, cooling, seeping, burning, bruising, purging, and all-renewing. They looked, saw and sifted through them, then mixed, swirled, dubbed and splattered them on canvases.
Joint exhibit “RealEase” is a 15-piece heartwork on unions, conception, journeys, little joys and language of the soul. Arnaldo, an advertising/ marketing officer and music artist and Limpin, creative writer, photographer/ filmmaker and performance poet, share perspectives from their individual disciplines, personal favorites and blended them, wove a common thread through universal stories to bring soul-healing. We are invited to take a look, find ease in the moment and choose to release ourselves from wherever we have been held wanting for so long.
“RealEase” opens on 9 September 2009, Wednesday at 7:00 pm at the Conspiracy Garden Café, #59 Visayas Avenue, Quezon City. It runs up to October 9. Come and immerse yourself in it before it flows to the next bend.
