Trek Valdizno is native of Bulacan. An extremely prolific painter who graduated from the University of the Philippines College of Fine Arts in 1992, Trek has had over twenty-five solo exhibitions since 1991. He has also participated in several group shows in the Philippines, Southeast Asia, and Europe. His fascination for his main medium which is oil has pushed him to experiment not only its textures, its body, but also its capacity as a subject of art itself. Trek paints paints. His most recent solo exhibition in Artis Corpus Gallery attested to this. Trek applied paint from tubes onto his canvases previously painted with completed images. The result is staggering impasto which goes beyond its definition.
