An experiment on light and the darkness of night, Eureka is both play and inquiry on the fundamental elements of photography: light and dark converse, mingle, and disperse. The photographs investigate the somberness of night unearthing what one cannot easily see (or hopes to see?), a symptom of the dazzling effects of light. Light, then, becomes more than a tool; beyond craft and skill, in all its rippling and bending forms, light is Holmes late-night accomplice, her companion after-hours.
Eureka opens on November 5, 2011 with cocktails at 3:00- 5:00 p.m. and will be on view until January 15, 2012.
