The Society of Philippine American Artists (SPAA) will hold its 18th Annual Art Exhibition on November 7 – December 2, 2011 at the Philippine Center on 556 Fifth Avenue, New York, NY 10036. The artworks will be available for viewing Monday to Friday from 9:30 am to 5:00pm. On the invitational benefit gala to be held on Tuesday Nov. 8, 2011 at 6:30-8 pm, fifteen original artworks will be raffled as prizes.
The exhibition, curated by noted watercolorist Angelito David, will be a fundraising event for the association. Works of art donated by its members will be raffled off to lucky ticket winners at the opening reception. During the exhibition period, Artist Talks will also be presented by selected members.
SPAA is the premier group of Filipino and American visual artists in the United States, including award-winning artists in oil, watercolor, multi-media, sculpture, printmaking, photography, and graphic arts. Founded by Manuel Rodriguez, Sr., considered the “Father of Modern Philippine Printmaking”, the association aims to promote the appreciation of the visual arts as an essential ingredient to progress and quality of life of all people.
