YOUNG ART PHILIPPINES AT RENAISSANCE GALLERY
It will be Kunst Gallery’s third time to exhibit this year at the prestigious MOYA (Museum of Young Art ), Vienna, Austria via “Young Art Philippines” coined by the museums Director and Curator Dr. Kolja Kramer. This exhibit offers the works of five brilliant contemporary Filipino artists namely Jojo Austria, Robert Fernandez, Sam Penaso, Marcial Pontillas and Emmanuel Santos. Their works mirror a strong cultural identity and heritage, the richness and vibrancy of Philippine art and the dynamism and idealism of Philippine youth.
A Pre-departure exhibit is slated at the Renaissance Gallery on May 4, 2009 prior to their European exhibit which would take them to ST. Camillus Hospital Gallery in Essen, Germany from May 25 to June 20, 2009; then to Chelsea Gallery (former Queen Victoria Gallery)in London from June 3 to 5; then to the prestigious MOYA in Vienna, Austria from June 8 to 14 and finally in Berlin with two simutaneous exhibits in the Philippine Community Center in Berlin, Germany from June 21 to 28 and at the modern Im Ludwig Ernhard Haus also in Berlin from June 17 to 26.
This series of exhibit promises to enrich the artists experience as they immerse with the culture and birthplace of visual art in Europe as well as prove their worth in the bigger Global Art Community by showcasing the best of Philippine art.
This series of exhibits in Europe marks the 24th year of promoting the Filipino talent thru Kunst Galery and its mentor Mr Virgilio Cuizon, 2004 Banaag Presidential Awardee by Pres. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo in recognition of his active leadership and contribution in promoting Filipino talent and culture in Europe.
It is our vision that with this exhibit and journey to different countries in Europe , these artists would weave a rich tapestry of knowledge and experience of what makes European art and how it could be utilized to further enhance and forward their artistic growth and encourage a new breed of Global Filipino artists.(for exhibit schedules and artist profiles please visit www.kunstgallery.multiply.com)
