That the Earth is the only Haven for all creatures living in it,
That this place called Earth is the happy home of all beings designed and put into existence by Divine Creation,
That this third planet from the Sun has been selected from everything else as stronghold of the rocks and the mountains, the streams and the seas, the breeze and the clouds,
That this solid rock, with its air and its water, is cradle of minute creatures invisible to the naked human eye,
That this firm mass holds soil and its nutrients that allow its algae and its trees to thrive and grow,
That this Green Planet has that perfect atmosphere that allows its insects and birds to fly freely with its fairies and its jet planes,
That the Earth is the only place in this entire Universe designed by the Almighty so that humans may interact freely with the multitude of animals sharing the richness of its bounty,
That everything that these beings do affect everything around them,
Are enough to convince us all to take care of our Haven, our Earth.
In celebration of all things friendly to the Earth, a group of students under the care of Thomas D. Daquioag shall mount an exhibition entitled Earth Haven. This show will feature thirty-six (36) art pieces of the following artists: Thomas Daquioag, Art Dela Cruz, Fanny Blanco, Aina Valencia, Brenda Reyes, Lita Gelano, Rubee Alcantara, Stella Torres, Rosevie Sevilla, Michelle Tan, Niña Lojo, Sasha Camaclang, Tetchie Dy, Lala Dy, Millie Dy, and Winnie Sacro, from 6 to 30 June 2009 at the Artis Corpus Gallery located at 303 Haig Street, Bagong Silang, Mandaluyong City. The public is cordially invited to view the exhibition and be present during its opening at
6:00 in the evening of 6 June 2009. Details may be obtained through 02.7174619 (Jenny) or 0920.9537426 (Rico).
The exhibition is woven around the age-old environmental theme that human beings are responsible for the care of their environment. The idea that people are simply custodians of the various resources that the Almighty has given them is the very foundation of the works selected for this unique exhibition.
