Gus Albor's "Sensor"
"SENSOR" marks the second solo exhibition of artist Gus Albor for the year 2011. The title of the exhibit refers to a specific work done a year ago but is being shown only now - an enigmatic piece that seems to have acquired a virtual sensory apparatus, formed out of elemental features, traversed in a "zoomed-in" type of painting composition. "Sensor" is a modest 2x2 ft composition in black and white acrylic on canvas.
The exhibition "Sensor" offers more than a dozen other works, culled from a collection of Albor's works over the past two years. The works have varied themes and different dimensions, but each one bears the artist's signature approach that is characteristic of the disciplined and deeply introspective quality that is the mark of Albor's oeuvre.
Gus Albor’s exhibition “Sensor” opens on Tuesday, October 4, 2011, at the Alliance Française Total Gallery of the Alliance Française de Manille, with cocktails at 6:30pm to 9pm. The exhibit runs until October 28, 2011.
