JULMARD D. VICENTE takes his roots from the Cordillera region. As a proud Igorot, Vicente finished his Certificate in Visual Arts at the Baguio City campus of the University of the Philippines and completed his Baccalaureate degree in Fine Arts Major in Painting at the University of the East.
As a young visual artist, Vicente has gained recognition in various art competitions. Notably, he was the grand prize winner in the MACC National Painting Competition in 2009 and in the Seventh Art Petron National Student Art Competition (Water color category) in 2007. He has been a consistent finalist in the Metrobank Art and Design Excellence (Painting category), the GSIS National Painting Competition and the Shell National Student Art Competition. He was conferred with a Certificate of Recognition by the University of the East for his exemplary performance in field of visual arts in 2007. Recently, Vicente was awarded 3rd Place in the Metrobank Art and Design Excellence 2011 Painting Category.
Julmard Vicente’s works have been exhibited at various venues in Metro Manila and in Baguio City since 2007. He was part of the contingent of the Philippine Art Trek (Chinoy Connection) held at the Utterly Art in Singapore in 2009.
The Ayala Museum now presents the first one-man exhibition of Julmard D. Vicente. Titled “UNANG PAHID,” the exhibition takes on the collective output of the artist as he furthers his career and transcend. Curated by JCrisanto Martinez, the exhibition shall be on view from October 15 until November 2, 2011 at the Glass Wing of the Ayala Museum, Makati Avenue corner Dela Rosa St., Greenbelt Park, 1224 Makati City, Philippines.
