Photo Contest Mechanics
Backgrounder:
This is a photography contest leading to tourism enhancement for the Areas of Bataan, Olongapo, Subic Bay Freeport Zone, and Zambales . Today, these are the areas that are easy to explore considering the excellent expressway and accommodations that are available in these places.
THEME
Entries must capture the essence of Subik consisting of Bataan, Olongapo, Subic Bay Freeport Zone, and Zambales as a tourist destination.
Subjects for the entries are: (1) People, indigenous to BOSZ showing their unique culture (2) Places, interesting tourist destinations in BOSZ (3) Events that capture festivities, fun and adventures in the BOSZ area.
There are four categories each aligned with one of the four areas.
ELIGIBILITY
1. The photo contest is open to both amateur and professional photographers of any nationality.
2. Photos must have been taken during the competition period from January 1, 2009 to April 24, 2009.
3. Participants may use any digital or film based camera. Entries must be printed in full color, size 8”x10”, any type of photography paper, with English title and unmounted with or without borders. Borders must not exceed 3 inches on either side, except for panoramic shots. The Photo Identification form a part of the registration form must be attached to the back.
4. Enhancement is limited only to cropping, color/digital retouching. No digital manipulation is allowed. Creative effects done within the camera at the time of exposure, flash fill, lighting, and filters are allowed. Entries that have been digitally-manipulated will be disqualified.
Registration forms for the contest are available in the following offices:

Entries must be exclusive to this contest only, and should not have been submitted as an entry in previous other contests. Entries that make it to top 100 of each area will be asked to submit original negatives or data files. Data files must be No smaller than 8x10 at 300dpi.
1. Entry(s) must be submitted with duly filled-out registration form, put in long brown envelope with a self-addressed return envelope and postage stamp, then submitted in person or via registered mail to:

2. Participants can enter any number of entries, but can only win once.
Price category for Sta. Cruz, Zambales:
1st prize Php 50,000
2nd prize Php 30,000
3rd prize Php 15,000
four honorable mention of Php 5,000 each area
3. Submission of entries is from March 4, 2009 to April 24, 2009. Mailed entries should be dated on or before April 24, 2009. Awarding of winners will be on May 8, 2009, Subic Bay Freeport Zone. Selected photos will be exhibited in Sta. Cruz, Zambales Municipal Hall and May 2-14, 2009 at Subic Bay Exhibition and Convention Center.
4. The decision of the board of judges is final and binding.
5. Prizes can be claimed at Greater Subic Bay Office within sixty (60) days from receipt of notification. Winners must present a valid I.D.
6. Winning entries will be featured in select media publications, and in the contest organizers’ websites and the four areas.
7. Winners will be notified thru phone or registered mail, and will be given specific instructions on how to claim their prizes.. Their names will also be announced through print ads and posted on organizers’ website.
8. Winners of the top 100 entries shall grant non exclusive rights to the LGU of Sta. Cruz, Zambales. The photographer will be acknowledged every time the photo is used.
